on july 19, 2002， i received an invitation from the city of danbury inviting me to visit america. i knew that i would be part of a delegation(代表团) of 13 people who were to visit the united states in august for 12 days.

　　   on august 22, i flew on a northwest airlines flight from shanghai pudong international airport. we flew across the pacific ocean and arrived in detroit at 10:30 in the morning, local time. then we changed the plane and went to new york city. when we arrived there, the boss of global services international company asked luo qianjing to pick us up. then the cars took us to our hotel, which was for overseas chinese students.
