had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. the work was very hard and dull. it was so boring that i wanted to give it up. at that time i thought of a saying "where there isa will, there is a way.""never give up!" i warned myself. finally i sticked it out. i finished the job before the new semester began. just as the saying goes,  "no pains, no gains." now i understand the value of labour.

　　    2003年的暑假，我在一家肯德基快餐店做清洁工。每天，我必须工作7个小时，总共三个星期。这项工作既辛苦又枯燥，它如此无味以致于我想放弃，但这时我想起了一句谚语“有志者，事竟成。”“不要轻言放弃。”我告诫自己。最后，在新学期开始之前，我完成了这项工作。正如一句谚语所说“不劳不获”。现在我明白了劳动的价值所在。
